Wild Okie Waffles & Tea

In high school, a boy met a girl.  Oh, wait.  We don’t have time to go all the way back there!

Fast forward 20 years.  We aren’t in high school anymore, and are now a family of 8 that loves family, friends, food, iced tea, and a combination of all four!   For us, few things speak comfort more than waffles and iced tea when we’re gathered around a table with our family and friends from the community.

Over the past decade, we have found our lives intertwined with foster care and adoption. As our personal adoption journey ended in 2015 when we finalized our adoptions, we began dreaming up ways to combine our passion for food and community with a way to also make impact in the world of foster care. It was during this time we gave birth to the Wild Okie.  We are passionate about making good food and iced tea, and we are equally as passionate about empowering young people who have been in foster care with the opportunity to work, learn entrepreneurship skills, and find their footing in this world.

With every bite, every sip, and every visit to the Wild Okie, you will be given the opportunity to join us in changing the world.  That’s a win-win, right?
